The New Housing Professional Program 

“Over the past year I have made great connections with other housing professionals and learned a lot about non-profit housing that I would have otherwise missed out on”.  

About the Program: 

Working in non-profit housing requires a broad skill set. MNPHA’s connections to partners and network of peers is here to help. 

The New Housing Professionals is sponsored by Assiniboine Credit Union. The selected participants will have free access to all MNPHA events and education session for all of 2025. The group will meet quarterly to network, share ideas and meet with other professionals. In addition, ACU’s team will provide financial training and/or analysis for the New Housing Professional participants, based on their self-identified needs upon program registration. 

Why Apply for the New Housing Professional Program?

The NHP program includes: 

  • Free registration to any MNPHA session, including the conference, Housing Day, Breakfast Club, Board Training, online and in person programs. Transportation subsides may be available for participants from out of Winnipeg.
  • Quarterly meetings to network with the group, and meet with leaders in non-profit housing 
  • Expand your ability to provide sustainable, dignified, affordable housing 
  • Build partnerships with other non-profit housing providers, advocates, service providers, and decision makers.  
  • A Certificate of completion of the 1-year New Housing Professionals Program upon the successful completion.

Who is eligible for the New Housing Professional Program?  

  • Interest in a pursuing a career in non-profit housing 
  • Has worked less then 6 years in non-profit housing 
  • Current employer is a member of MNPHA 
  • Have the support of your organization (they can contact us directly with questions) 
  • Commit to attending the following MNPHA events and education sessions: 
    • The Building Partnerships Conference – October 2025 
    • Housing Day sessions, networking and caucus meeting 
    • Breakfast Club  
    • ACU’s financial training session 
    • Attending quarterly virtual meetings with the other New Housing Professionals
